Where to go shopping in Dubai? – Shopping centers, souks and outlets

Dubai and shopping seem to be synonymous. Shopping is one of the star activities in this city, and here I explain the best shopping malls, markets, and shops in Dubai.

The Dubai Mall

I start with the most obvious option and the primary place to shop in Dubai. The Dubai Mall is the largest shopping center in the city and the world. There are more than 10,000 stores that make up this excellent shopping center with all kinds of services and entertainment options.

You will find from the most expensive and exclusive brands to shops with clothes for all budgets. The downside is the number of people you are going to meet. Being a tourist attraction, it attracts the masses, so shopping there can be overwhelming. Know more about Bosporus Turkish Restaurant In Dubai.

My recommendation to buy is to go to another of the malls and leave The Dubai Mall for its tourist attractions: its fountains, the Burj Khalifa, the aquarium, and the dinosaur that is more than 150 million years old.

Mall of the Emirates

Also very big and touristy, but still quieter than the Dubai Mall. It is the city's second largest Mall, and you will find the same stores in The Dubai Mall. They range from the most exclusive stores to fashion stores at affordable prices. Moderate like Zara, Bershka, H&M, and many more.

The Mall of the Emirates is best known for having the only ski slope in the desert, but if you don't like skiing, there are other options. Know more about Panoor restaurant near me.

How to get it? Take the red metro line and get off at the Mall of the Emirates station.

Internet. It has good WiFi for all visitors.

Madinat Jumeirah

It is a commercial complex that includes hotels, restaurants, and shops. It is not a mega shopping center like the previous ones, but it is a place that recreates a traditional Arab market but with hints of elegance.

It is one of my favorite places to take pictures of the Burj Al Arab hotel, and I recommend it for a walk more than for shopping.

How to get it? It is one stop by bus from the Burj Al Arab sailing hotel. You can walk from it or take a bus from the metro's red line.

Souk Al Bahar

In the style of the Madinat Jumeirah, this small shopping center recreates a traditional Arab market. Most of its stores are exclusive boutiques. Learn more about Green City restaurant Satwa.

If you are looking for luxury items and unique handmade objects, this is a great place, and its advantage is that it is right in front of the Dubai Mall so that you can combine the visit.

How to get it? Take the red metro line and get off at Burj Khalifa/The Dubai Mall Station. From there, walk to the Dubai Fountains. You will find this commercial across the bridge.

Dubai Marina Mall

This shopping center is nothing special, but its location is perfect for those who decide to stay in this city area. It has clothing stores, cinemas, restaurants, pharmacies, and supermarket.

Travel tip. If you want an excellent view of the Dubai Marina canal, go to the fast food area and look for the terrace. From there you will have very nice views and the opportunity to take photos without paying anything.

How to get it? Take the red metro line and get off at the Damac Properties station. You can walk or transfer to the tram to get there, and it's just one station.

Ibn Battuta Mall

The decoration distinguishes this shopping center located almost at the end of the red metro line, in the station of the same name. It is not exactly close to the airport or downtown, but it can be a good alternative if you stay near this area. You might be interested in Ritaj Restaurant.

By the way, it is in this place that the most famous Starbucks in Dubai is located.

Shopping in the souks of Dubai

Another alternative to shopping in the souks or traditional markets of Dubai. One of the most famous is the gold souk, an excellent place to buy this precious metal. The prices are better than in other parts of the world, and the government regulates the stores, so you can be sure that you are carrying an authentic gold product.

One option for spices, souvenirs, and buying typical sweets is the famous spice souk or the Old Souk.

By the way, in this area, you will also find many vendors who will offer to take you to clandestine shops where pirated products of luxury brands are sold.

Outlets in Dubai

If you wonder if there are outlets in Dubai, the answer is yes, and the most famous are: The Outlet Village and Outlet Mall.

The Outlet Village is 35 minutes from Downtown Dubai and only 20 minutes from the Marina metro. Although you can combine the metro and bus to get there, it has a complimentary transfer service from the central hotels in the city. Another alternative would be to use a taxi to get there. It has brands like Steve Madden, Nike, Adidas, Michael Kors, Coach, and Guess, and its discounts reach 90%, although in general, we could talk about products with close to 50%.

Where do I buy souvenirs in Dubai?

One of the best places to buy souvenirs in Dubai is the Deira souks. However, you have to haggle. If you accept the first price, you can end up paying more than in shopping centers, so it is simply a matter of negotiating the price.

You will also find souvenirs in all the city's shopping centers and Carrefour supermarkets.
